Are Your Responsibilities Changing?

Under normal circumstances, the uneven and varied problems that arise in our work are no small challenges for anyone.

Now, on this basis, we need to add another challenge: the definition of job responsibilities is constantly changing.

I often ask questions at the seminar: "who among you is engaged in your job?" very few people raise their hands.

Because job responsibilities are likely to be neither explicit nor specific, it is possible for you to understand what you really need, how much you do, and how much you can do until you have done a definite task for a long time.


But few people can have such good luck for two main reasons.


1. the institutions we work in seem to be in an eternal change. The goals, products, users, markets, technology and owners are constantly changing and changing. This will inevitably lead to the restructuring and adjustment of various existing structures, modes, roles and responsibilities.


2. compared with the past, today's general is more independent.

They change careers as frequently as parents change jobs. Even more than 40 and more than 50 years old believe in the evolving belief of the times.

They want to integrate more fully into the mainstream society and devote themselves to the "inclusive development trend, whether in professional, managerial or administrative aspects".

In short, people will not engage in any single occupation for a long time.


Nowadays, few people are very clear about what the job content is, or how much investment they need to make it do well.

We get a lot of information from the outside world, and at the same time, we have formed the same huge number of views in our inner world and agreements with others or ourselves.

However, we still do not have the corresponding ability to undertake such a large number of pactions.


Old patterns and habits seem inadequate.


Whether we accept standard education, traditional time management models, or today's market rich and readily available management aids, such as personal Notepad, Microsoft Outlook software or personal palm computer (PDA), can not help us fully cope with the new demands we face.

If you have tried using any of the above methods or tools, I am afraid you have found that they are unable to meet all kinds of complex requirements that are constantly generated and pformed in the work.

In order to get relaxed and good self-control in this turbulent era, people need a new way of thinking and work.

We urgently need to dig out some new methods, new technologies and new working modes so that we will always be invincible.

With free time, there is a demand for what to do.

"1, 2, 3" priority code and daily list of tasks are important choices that people have gradually developed in the past practice.

The role can not be ignored, but in fact, it is only effective in managing a small part of the business you are engaged in (at least to some extent).

Moreover, it has been confirmed that the daily task list and the simplified priority code are far from enough to cope with the enormous and complicated daily routine that ordinary professionals encounter.

More and more people deal with dozens or even hundreds of e-mails a day. They can't ignore any invitations, complaints or orders.

Almost no one can discharge all affairs according to the order of "1, 2, 3". No one dares to change his scheduled work schedule after receiving his boss's call or instruction.
