Statistics

It shows that in 2009, despite the impact of the global financial crisis, the total output of all kinds of fibers in the world decreased by 1% compared with 2008, and still amounted to 69 million 611 thousand tons.

Among them, man-made fiber (or chemical fiber) amounted to 46 million 255 thousand tons, an increase of 1.5% over the same period, and natural fiber reached 23 million 356 thousand tons, a decrease of 5.7% compared to the same period last year.

The proportion of man-made fiber and natural fiber to total fiber output is 66.4% and 33.6% respectively.

More than 80% of synthetic fiber is synthetic fiber, and polyester fiber is the main product. The output is 31 million 937 thousand tons, accounting for 70% of the total output of man-made fiber, and the total output of all kinds of fibers in the world also reaches 45%.

The largest producing area is the mainland of China, reaching 23 million 130 thousand tons.

Compared with 2008, it increased by 6.7%, accounting for 61.2% of the world's total synthetic fiber output; the second India also increased by 11.6% over the same period last year, accounting for 7.9% of the total, while the rest of the main producing areas in the United States and Japan decreased by 15.4% and 26.1%, respectively, and the proportion decreased; Taiwan, Korea,

The decline was slightly smaller and the share increased.

The data reflect that the world's synthetic fiber production center is continuing to be pferred from the developed economies of the United States, Europe and Japan to the mainland, India and other emerging regions of Asia.
