Cotton Price Steady Output

From the beginning of September, the low temperature and rain weather that lasted for half a month in the large part of Hebei province was unfavorable to the growth of cotton.

Recently, most of the province has a fine cloudy weather. The total output of cotton in Hebei province is expected to increase slightly over the past year.

The provincial Cotton Association expects that Hebei's cotton yield will reach 225 kg to 250 kg this year, and the total output will reach 700 thousand tons, which will increase by 4% to 5% compared with last year.

increase

On the afternoon of the 15 afternoon, after drizzling rain, I came to Qiuxian, one of the top 100 cotton producing counties in the country, following Sun Huailian, chief agricultural engineer of the county's agriculture and Animal Husbandry Bureau.

A few days of light rain made the cotton field very muddy, and there were basically two or three rotten peaches on each cotton plant.

"Before the precipitation season, more than 450 thousand acres of cotton grew well in Qiuxian, and the continuous rain for several days reduced the light time of cotton. The elongation of cotton boll, boll opening and cotton fiber was also affected, and the rotten boll phenomenon of cotton was also aggravated, which affected cotton yield and quality."

Sun Huailian said.

Around 5 p.m., the rain just stopped.

Zhang Xidong, the villagers of Fu Dong village in Xiangcheng Guzhen, Qiuxian, came to the cotton field to cut bare branches for cotton, beat old leaves and remove mildew and rot.

"The county has sent technicians to give us technical guidance, and we strive to minimize the losses."

The whole province will usher in fine weather. The total output of cotton will be this year.

Slightly increase

A good news came from the provincial meteorological observatory. From 20 to 25, the whole province will usher in a fine sunny and cloudy weather.

"The current continuous rainy weather is not very long. The total output of cotton in Hebei province is expected to increase slightly over the past year, and the overall quality will be higher than last year."

Provincial Cotton Association executive vice president Yang Shanxing analysis.

From March 2010 to August, China's cotton price index rose from 15000 to 18000, and then to March 2011, rising to more than 31000.

Cotton prices fell sharply and reached about 20100 by the end of July this year.

After more than a year's price "roller coaster", China's cotton price index has been maintained at around 19000 in more than a month since August.

According to reports, according to the new cotton annual national temporary storage plan, market prices fell below 19800 yuan / ton on the open storage, at present

Storage stabilizer

The cotton price is stable.

"Cotton production in most cotton producing countries this year is good, and output is increasing, but demand for textile enterprises is not strong. There is still a downward pressure on cotton prices."

Yang Shanxing analysis.

It is reported that although cotton prices are relatively stable, they are lower than farmers' expectations, and some cotton farmers are reluctant to sell.

"It is estimated that after eleven, the new cotton will be listed on the market, and the market will form a generally agreed price."

Yang Shanxing said.

Textile enterprises: the situation is complicated and the risk is increased.

"At present, the new cotton in Hebei's market is basically weak in grade four and has not yet seen three grade cotton with better quality."

Wu Xuechen, Minister of Changshan stock operation Department, introduced.

Cotton storage in large textile enterprises can generally guarantee production from one month to two months, with low quality cotton in stock and high quality cotton.

Generally speaking, the operation of textile enterprises in Hebei province has improved in 2010. But this year, the credit crisis in Europe and the United States has led to weak market demand and rising cost, which has gradually lost the relative advantages of Chinese textile enterprises, and overseas orders have shifted to emerging countries, which have brought a considerable impact on China's textile enterprises.

In addition, the uncertainty of new cotton prices has been triggered by the recent rainy weather. Insiders say that compared with last year, this year, for textile enterprises, "the situation is complex and the risk is increasing".

At present, the small textile enterprises in Hebei province have a relatively high rate of discontinued production. Some small businesses rarely have cotton reserves, and cotton is usually bought by orders. The fluctuation of cotton prices will have a great impact on them.

"While we pay close attention to the weather changes, we have sent people to Xinjiang to purchase cotton with better quality and purchase some imported cotton, and also avoid the risk of cotton price fluctuation as far as possible," he said.

Wu Xuechen said.
