Zhejiang Tongxiang Industrial Cluster Advantage Shows Accelerating Development

With the rise of China's economy, China's textile industry has developed rapidly, and now it has become the core of the world textile industry.

In September 5th, the nineteenth China International Chemical fiber conference was held in Tongxiang. The conference attracted industry leaders from nearly twenty major chemical producing countries and regions in Europe, Japan and South Korea.

At the meeting, Tongxiang proposed to build state-level chemical fiber and new material industry base, and the total scale of chemical fiber industry exceeded 100 billion yuan in 2016.

Advantages of industrial clusters

The chemical fiber industry is the largest pillar industry in Tongxiang. After more than 30 years of development, the whole industry chain system from fiber, fabric, dyeing and finishing to clothing has been formed, especially the production capacity of polyester filament has accounted for 15% of the whole country. Knitted sweater has already formed 800 million adult production capacity, and its output accounts for about half of the whole country.

Duan Xiaoping, President of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, said that the healthy development of chemical fiber industry depends not only on the leading enterprises in the industry, but also on the smooth and healthy development of many small and medium-sized enterprises.

As of 2012, there were 489 large scale chemical fiber and textile enterprises in Tongxiang, and 70 billion 970 million yuan in industrial output value. Based on chemical fiber, the textile industry has been extended to develop. Tongxiang has formed special industries such as home textiles, flocking, warp knitted, sweater and other related blocks.

Among them, the sweater industry is based on the Pu Zhuang Town, the largest sweater distributing center in the country, and has formed a complete industrial chain, mainly knitted garment production, including design creativity, spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, brand communication and so on. In the industrial functional area such as Chau Quan and hemp, many home textile enterprises have been brought together.

The advantages of transformation are beginning to show.

Over the past two years, the chemical fiber industry has also encountered unprecedented difficulties, slowing demand growth, increasing pressure on new production capacity, increasing resource and environmental constraints, and rising cost of essential elements.

Pan Minfang, vice mayor of Tongxiang, said that Tongxiang strives to reach 100 billion yuan in 2016.

Under the background of many difficulties in the international and domestic economic operation of the chemical fiber industry, what is the bottom line for Tongxiang to build 100 billion chemical fiber industry?

Wang Tiankai, President of China Textile Industry Federation, believes that large-scale and homogeneous competition has not been sustainable in the past. Chemical fiber enterprises must pay attention to differentiation and functionalization in their own development process.

Pan Minfang said that Tongxiang will make further large-scale production, and will push forward the development of the industry to "high-end, differentiated and functional". By 2016, the city's chemical fiber product differential rate will reach more than 65%, making Tongxiang a well-known national chemical fiber production base.

Accelerating the development of science and technology

At the exchange forum, Xiaoping said that in the coming period, with the recovery of the world economy, the rapid development of science and technology will accelerate the innovation of material technology and will become an important trend in the new round of scientific and technological progress.

In recent years, Tongxiang actively takes the leading technology and R & D center of the chemical fiber industry as the main body, promotes the cooperation of industry, University and research, and sets up the technological innovation system of the industry. More than one state-level technology (R & D) center and more than one provincial-level enterprise research Institute have been built, and the R & D capital investment of the industry has accounted for more than 2% of the main business income.

Leading enterprises such as Tong Kun group are actively going out to develop upstream raw material industries such as PTA in Zhapu and other places in Jiaxing, to improve the self support capability of raw materials, to promote the extension of the industrial chain upstream and downstream, and to enhance the overall innovation and competitiveness of the industrial chain.
