He believes that the management of chemicals in textile and garment industry has not made much progress over the years because of the end of management.

For example, he said, regardless of the EU's Reach regulations or Chinese standards, the control of harmful substances is centered on the end products. The textile and garment industry is directly facing consumers, so the textile industry has the greatest pressure.

The sources of harmful substances are mainly dyes and auxiliaries, but from the mandatory standards, the textile industry has 2 standards, and the auxiliary industry does not even have mandatory standards, which indicates that the source management of the supply chain is not in place.

Wang Jianping further pointed out that

Control and control should start from the source. Once the dye starts to be tested, it will be pferred to thousands of downstream enterprises, and every household will be tested, resulting in a high social cost.

In addition, textile, leather, shoes, dyestuffs, dyeing auxiliaries, commodity inspection and other systems have their own testing organizations. There is little difference in the technical strength of each side, but duplication of construction wastes a lot of manpower and material resources.

He suggested that chemical control should be pformed from previous social management to social governance, from source to terminal, and upstream and downstream to work together to push forward.

At the same time, we should take a rational view of the development of the industry and solve the problems one by one. We can not expect all the removal of harmful substances, but the elimination of 50% is also progress.

Lin Li, director of the Asia Foundation of the ZDHC foundation, shared this feeling. She said that social management instead of social management pointed out the key to the management of harmful chemicals in China's textile supply chain. We must work together to achieve zero emission targets for hazardous substances.

Professor Xi Dan Li, a professor at Donghua University, is the only Chinese expert who has participated in the ZDHC wastewater treatment guidelines. He said that the standards for wastewater discharge in ZDHC are being worked out. China's right to speak is very important. In the future, international purchasers will implement this standard, which will have an impact on China's textile and dyeing enterprises.

Hu Kehua, deputy director of the China Federation of social responsibility office, revealed that as the focal point of the next step, China Textile Alliance will officially release the 2020 - year plan for chemicals management innovation at the end of this year, and 100 will be launched next year.

As a pilot unit, the construction of manufacturing processes and chemical control capabilities can be initiated by finding problems, putting forward solutions and training.
