On November 25, the establishment meeting of national chemical fiber Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as "chemical fiber Standardization Committee") and 2020 annual meeting of chemical fiber industry standardization was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

Standards are the fruits of human civilization. From ancient China's "cars on the same track, books on the same page", to modern industrial scale production, all are vivid practices of standardization. With the further development of economic globalization, standardization plays an increasingly important role in facilitating economic and trade exchanges, supporting industrial development, promoting scientific and technological progress and standardizing social governance. Standards have become the "universal language" in the world. The world needs the coordinated development of standards, and standards promote the interconnection of the world.

China Chemical Fiber Industry Association and chemical fiber industry have always attached great importance to standardization. During the 13th Five Year Plan period, the basic supporting role of standardization in the high-quality development of chemical fiber has become increasingly prominent, and the effectiveness, advancement and applicability have been further enhanced. At present, there are 6 ISO international standards, 55 national standards, 258 industry standards and 60 chemical fiber association group standards in the chemical fiber field, with a total of 379 standards. In order to build a high-level coordination and communication platform for chemical fiber industry standardization, the application of chemical fiber Standardization Committee began to prepare as early as 2012. On March 18, 2020, the National Standardization Management Committee issued an announcement [No. 5 in 2020], establishing six technical committees including the National Technical Committee for chemical fiber standardization. Since then, the chemical fiber Standard Committee has blossomed and become a national standard Exclusive standardization organization and technical platform within the commission system.

The chemical fiber Standards Committee is under the business guidance of the national standards committee, and the China Textile Federation is responsible for its daily management. China has become the country with the widest coverage of chemical fiber production varieties in the world, and the role of standards is indispensable.

The chemical fiber Standards Committee is one of the important achievements of the National Standards Committee in promoting the reform of the standard work. It is a strong backing to enhance the international discourse power of chemical fiber standards, and an important starting point for the chemical fiber industry to face the international and domestic dual cycle pattern. Wang Dantao said that with the joint efforts of the Secretariat and other members of the committee, the work of the chemical fiber Standards Committee has been steadily carried out. According to the agenda of the meeting, the conference deliberated and approved the articles of association of National Technical Committee for chemical fiber Standardization (Draft), working rules of the Secretariat of National Technical Committee for chemical fiber Standardization (Draft), and work plan and standard system of the first National Technical Committee for chemical fiber standardization.
