The 20th World Brand Conference hosted by the World Brand Lab was held in Beijing on June 15, at which the analysis report of China's 500 Most Valuable Brands in 2023 was released. In this annual report based on financial data, brand strength and consumer behavior analysis, State Grid ranked first among the most valuable brands this year with a brand value of 626.871 billion yuan. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Haier, PetroChina and China Life Insurance also occupy the top five of the list. These brands have entered the world-class brand camp.

The total value of China's 500 Most Valuable Brands in 2023 will be 34331.181 billion yuan, an increase of 3358374 million yuan or 10.84% over 2022. It is the 20th year for the World Brand Lab to compile a report on Chinese brands. In 2004, the threshold for inclusion was only 500 million yuan, and the average value of the top 500 brands was 4.943 billion yuan. In 2023, 20 years later, the threshold for inclusion has risen to 3.527 billion yuan, while the average value of the top 500 brands is up to 68.662 billion yuan, an increase of 1289.08%. This year, there were 72 Chinese brands worth more than 100 billion, an increase of 3 over last year.

In the ranking list of China's 500 Most Valuable Brands in 2023, a total of 25 brands from food and beverage, light industry, building materials, media, textile and clothing, medicine, machinery and other related industries were selected. Among them, the food and beverage industry is still the industry with the most selected brands, with 83 brands selected, accounting for 16.60% of the total number of selected brands. The number of selected brands in light industry (45), building materials (39) and other industries is also large. Among them, four brands in the chemical fiber industry, including Hengli, Sanfangxiang, Rongsheng Petrochemical and Tongkun, were selected, which shows that the chemical fiber brand value is gradually recognized
